Hong Kong: Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, has today announced the launch of its Green Leaf Mark Zero PFAS, an independent, compliance‑grade verification program designed to help brands, manufacturers and retailers respond to tightening global PFAS regulations and rising stakeholder expectations.
Per‑ and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are under intensified global scrutiny due to environmental and human health concerns. Across the European Union, the United States and other key markets, new restrictions, lower detection thresholds and stronger enforcement actions are reshaping compliance expectations for consumer products and materials worldwide. The Green Leaf Mark Zero PFAS provides independent verification that no PFAS have been detected in a product or material, based on laboratory testing conducted within defined scopes and reporting limits. Designed to remain aligned with evolving regulatory and scientific developments, the program’s targeted PFAS list is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect the latest available information.
The mark currently covers testing for approximately 770 targeted PFAS substances together with total fluorine criteria, offering one of the widest PFAS verification scopes available in the market and supporting customers in demonstrating due diligence, managing regulatory risk and meeting growing expectations for substantiated chemical compliance information.
Issued under Intertek’s Green Leaf Mark framework, the Green Leaf Mark Zero PFAS features a QR code that provides real-time digital access to product information and verification status. This traceable, accessible format helps customers share relevant product verification information with supply chain partners, retailers and other stakeholders across markets.
To support different product categories, risk profiles and regulatory needs, the program offers a tiered approach, Basic and Plus, allowing customers to select the verification level most appropriate for their products and intended markets.
The Green Leaf Mark Zero PFAS integrates with Intertek’s broader portfolio of testing, audit and chemical management services, including ToxClear, Intertek’s sustainable chemical management platform, to support a comprehensive, end‑to‑end approach to PFAS risk management.
